The Examined Lifestyle: Collar Popping

"I can't even believe we're arguing if popping a collar is okay. We live in a post-Jersey-Shore society these days."

C'mon, really? Unless you're a time traveler going through the 80s where you have to play a cliched douchebag movie villain (think the jerk who is the boyfriend of the girl the "hero" longs after), collar popping is never OK.

But I have noticed that some of Bonobo's polos have a well placed emblem/icon on the inside of the collar that does create the urge to pop. Conspiracy?

I think that the fact that the Ninjas are divided on this is exactly your answer. A popped collar can look good on certain guys with certain shirts. Like wearing a hat, some guys, or post-modern gentlemen, can look good in a popped collar, given their style and wardrobe.

I am not one of these lucky few, and I never will be, but just because I can't pull it off doesn't give me the right to become a hater.

Ditto Mike, wait where do you come down? Footballers eliminate the "never" argument. The only absolute should be that it must look good. If you think it does, but you didn't get what you wanted out of the evening/outing than you might reconsider your pop.
